This
much loved and unusual 70ft long x 9ft 2ins wide live-aboard canal boat is offered
for sale as the owners are re-locating abroad. It is currently situated on the
Grand Union canal between Tring and Leighton Buzzard. It is fully licensed until
May 2009 and the hull has been recently surveyed for insurance purposes and
‘blacked’. The boat was built in 1985 by apprentices and trainees b.s.t.e.s
Birkenhead and has been modified to provide comfortable, affordable accommodation
for 2. The interior features a kitchen with sink, gas cooker/hob, gas fridge,
and Rayburn; lounge; bedroom with large double bed; bathroom with wash basin,
shower and chemical toilet; drying room where the diesel burner is located;
(Pumpout decommissioned but serviceable) back cabin housing under-floor engine
(Perkins 4108 diesel engine in good condition) and controls (tiller)ideal for
workshop/storage. The interiors of the drying room and back cabin are not fully
finished as yet and would need some work, although the space is fully functional.
There are 3 radiators in total, 2 of which run off the diesel burner, which
also heats the water tank. The 3rd radiator runs off the Rayburn, which also
gives out radiant heat and can be used for cooking. The boat has a large water
tank, situated under the front deck. The front deck itself offers ample space
to sit outside and enjoy the tranquillity of the canal environment and is also
great for parking a motorbike. Electricity is provided by 2 large 120w solar
panels located on the roof at the rear of the boat. Further information available
on request; viewings by appointment. |
